Geography and History
The coastal town of Westport, CT is considered one of the most affluent communities in the United States. With a population of around 26,000 people, Westport is home to significant cultural attractions, several Fortune 500 companies’ corporate headquarters (including Playtex Products), and beautiful beaches.
Though incorporated as a town in 1835, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that Westport gained the reputation as artist's colony and cultural center. With two train stations, Westport is easily accessible from most of New England and Grand Central Station.

Westport was made famous by the I Love Lucy television show, when Ricky and Lucy moved there after purchasing their new home. It was also the fictional residence of Darrin and Samantha Stephens on the television series Bewitched. One of the most popular tracks on REO Speedwagon's debut album, released in 1971, was "157 Riverside Avenue." The title refers to the Westport address in which the band stayed during the recording process. Among the many famous celebrities who live in town are Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas, radio personality Don Imus, singer Michael Bolton, recording artists Ashford and Simpson, and film producer Harvey Weinstein.
